Oral Hygiene
Scale and polish
The Oral hygienist removes deposits on teeth that normal brushing and flossing can’t remove. This includes calculus(tartar buildup) and stains.
This is an important procedure for both gum and tooth health. We recommend a proper “cleaning” with the oral hygienist two times per year.
Gum and periodontal disease is scientifically proven to have a direct effect on the entire body’s health and overall well being.
Periodontal disease can not only undermine the beauty and health of your smile, but your overall health, as well. Studies have linked gum disease to serious concerns such as heart disease, stroke, uncontrolled diabetes, poor pregnancy outcomes, prostethic joint replacement failure, dementia, lung disease and other health conditions.
Oral hygiene education
The oral hygienist serves an important role by teaching patients the correct methods of brushing and flossing as well as other good habits related to oral health.
Fissure sealants
A thin layer of material is flowed into the grooves on the biting surface of teeth, to seal the grooves and help prevent decay from forming.
It is a minimally invasive and pain free procedure to help prevent formation of tooth decay, especially useful doing this procedure at a young age.
Fluoride treatment
Fluoride treatment plays an important role in preventing tooth decay by hardening the tooth structure and making it more resistant to the influence of plaque and acidic- or sugary substances.
Fluoride treatment is very effective in treating patients with hyper sensitivity to hot or cold food and drinks.
